The Horsepower Group
Harnessing our horsepower to build strength, confidence, and emotional skills Together
This group is a group for primary school-aged girls
It’s an opportunity to come together and connect with new and familiar faces in an inclusive and safe space to share, explore, learn, support and grow.
We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, bodies and identities.
In this program, we will provide experiences and activities designed to help participants build skills and confidence as they navigate challenges and changes in their lives.
We will also explore strategies for self-care and personal resilience, with a particular focus on supporting the nervous system through sensory modulation techniques—helping participants feel grounded, regulated, and ready to thrive in all environments.
Over the two days, participants will have the opportunity to spend time with our horses, during Equine Assisted Therapy sessions designed to build capacity for self- awareness, awareness of ‘others’, confidence, social communication skills and independence.
We also spend time in nature exploring a range of self-care strategies to foster new understandings to develop skills for self-regulation of emotions
Participants will also participate in art therapy sessions, designed for self-reflection and to integrate new learnings and experiences.
This program is NDIS approved
